Retro Chick Simon Ekrelius Fall 2010 Lookbook

{YBA} One of ELLE Japan‘s most interesting designers is Simon Ekrelius, who has named his fall/winter 2010/2011 collection “Stardust”. Simon’s career started in haute couture and entered the ready-to-wear realm four years ago.

His collection has a feminine, old Hollywood, 1930′s vibe exuding high glamour with bolder shapes. I love his use of print and shapes making the blacks and grays stand out brighter. His collection currently is sold in London, Italy, and China.

The Simon Ekrelius Fall 2010 lookbook uses a mirroring concept to bring out the quirky and alienesque theme of the spread. The retro color scheme on these prints presents the model under a creepy light. From the dark-colored lips to the unusual headpieces, each individual campaign shot gives off an eerie vibe while emphasizing the awkward and unique styles of the clothing collection.

These clothes definitely make a statement but there are accessible pieces too, like a sheer blouse or structured gray skirt, that we could definitely see ourselves rockin’, even if we’re not in outer space.
