Fish patty is a Continental specialty. It is a flattened, usually disc-shaped with serving of fish inside the flaky shell. These savory fish patties are served as main dish and are eaten with the hands or even with a knife and fork. Chili sauce makes a good fish patty accompaniment.

Ingredients:

  1. 1.5 kg Any kind of De-Boned Fish
  2. 2 Eggs (beaten)
  3. 3 cups Onions (chopped)
  4. 2 cups Celery (chopped)
  5. 1/2 cup Parsley (chopped)
  6. 6 cloves Garlic (minced)
  7. 900 gms Boiled Potatoes (mashed)
  8. 3 cups Bread Crumbs
  9. Salt and black pepper as per taste
  10. 4 tbsp Tabasco Pepper Sauce
  11. 1/2 cup Oil

Directions:

  1. Cut fish in small pieces.
  2. Rub each piece evenly with salt, black pepper, and sauce.
  3. Keep it aside for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Take a pot with ½ cup cooking oil and place the fish in it.
  5. Cook over medium heat until nearly done.
  6. Now add onion, celery and garlic. Cook for a few minutes and then remove from heat.
  7. Add mashed potatoes, parsley, bread crumbs, and eggs, Mix well.
  8. Use a large tablespoon to scoop mixture and flatten into round patties.
  9. Coat the patties with bread crumbs and fry until golden brown.
