Saint Augustine Academy Collection at Australian Fashion Week 2010

{YBA} St. Augustine Academy is the fashion label borne out of the vibrant and eclectic fashion of Sydney’s alternative music scene.  At Australian Fashion Week, Saint Augustine Academy designer Alvin Manalo showed a collection of edgy vampire worthy, clean and tailored street wear.

Alvin Manalo is the head designer and creative director of Saint Augustine Academy. With the label now in its 11th season, Alvin has established himself as an inspired and talented designer being acclaimed by stockists and media alike.

Saint Augustine Academy was a refreshing collection of punk influenced sophistication. For the first time the label produced a full collection of woman’s wear, as well as their usual menswear, which successfully juxtaposed the extremes of hard stud embellished dresses and soft lace and satin numbers.

Tailored clothing, suiting and bow ties in red, black, white and denim from head to toe were the dominant feature for the menswear. Overall the collection could be described as hard rock with a soft melodious base beat.
