How to Take Good care of Oily Face Skin – Skin Care Tips

Oily skin can cause several skin problems, including blackheads, shiny skin, makeup that won’t stay on the face, and of course, acne. While there are other causes, oily skin is the most likely.

Many over-the-counter products are made to treat oily skin, but these contain harsh chemicals. Sometimes oily skin care products end up leaving the face dry and rough, which really only causes another set of skin care problems. Some products upset the delicate Ph balance of the skin or skin tone, not to mention that the chemicals in these products are harsh and just flat out may not be safe to use regularly.

Oily skin

Oily skin is characterized by shine and enlarged pores. On account of the high levels of sebum, the skin has a greasy shine and tendency to break out into acne. This is because oily skin tends to attract more dirt and dust. Oily skin can be a result of heredity or hormone levels. Generally teenagers are plagued with oily skin and acne breakouts. But sometimes-oily skin can continue way into adult years.

With age the flow of sebum decreases and the skin becomes less oily. Humidity levels can also be a cause for excess oiliness on the skin. Other causes can be cosmetics or birth control pills. Since there are more sebaceous glands around the nose, women with oily skin will notice that there is a tendency to develop blackheads around it. Some women experience oily skin only in some areas. This is a condition of combination skin.

Oli Skin Care Tips

  1. Stick with the basics: The experts suggest cleansing your face two or three times daily with good old soap and water. Pack a premoistened cleansing pad if you won’t be around a water basin throughout the day.
  2. Understand that dermatologists and aestheticians often disagree on which types of soaps or cleansers to use’but all agree that once you find a product that works well for your skin, you should continue using it.
  3. Follow the recommendations of dermatologists and shower or bathe in tepid rather than steaming-hot water. Hot water can strip your skin of needed moisture, while cold water can shock your skin.
  4. Avoid using cleansers that tend to overdry skin. This paradoxically causes your skin to produce even more oil than usual.
  5. Use only noncomedogenic moisturizers and sunscreen products’this means they’re oil-free and won’t clog pores.
  6. Talk to your dermatologist about a class of drugs called retinoids, which reduce production in oil glands and shrink their size.
  7. Keep in mind that oil glands are very sensitive’stimuli such as hormones, heat and (some say) fatty food can trigger them.
  8. Remember that your efforts to keep your oily skin clear can only go so far, as some studies indicate that oily skin is hereditary.

Warnings

Constant breakouts may indicate that you have acne or another skin condition. Contact your dermatologist for medical advice and guidance.
