Hair Removal With Sugar: Sugar Hair Removal Recipes

Thousands of years ago, Persians discovered a new way of removing unwanted hairs from their body and it is now commonly known as the sugar hair removal. The method was also known as Persian waxing and the process involved is also similar to waxing hair removal only it uses natural ingredients and not chemically produced. It is also said that sugar hair removal is a method a lot less painful when you compare it to the traditional waxing since it only sticks to the unwanted hairs and not to the skin itself.

Getting rid of hair can be easy, and almost painless. If you just have a few stray hairs, plucking them out with tweezers may be the simplest method for a quick fix. For larger areas, you can use a method of hair removal called body sugaring. You can remove the hair at home with basic ingredients from the grocery store.

For a more permanent solution, try laser therapy or electrolysis, but for a natural and inexpensive method of hair removal, try body sugaring. You’ll nee to wait for the hair to grow in a little. Hair must be about 1/4 inch long so the sugar solution can sufficiently grab it to pull it out.

Sugar Hair Removal Recipes

While many natural waxing and sugaring solutions are inexpensive to buy, some persons get satisfaction from making their own sugaring pastes at home.

Note however that while the recipes are quite simple, getting the correct proportions of the ingredients, the precise temperature and the cooking time exactly right can take much practice. It is an art to produce a sugaring paste with the right consistency which provides best results.

Recipe 1

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup of water

Directions:

  • Put the sugar in a large saucepan, add the lemon juice and water.
  • Stir constantly over a low flame until the sugar is a dark brown.
  • Pour into thick plastic storage containers and allow to cool. (These can be put in a microwave later for reheating if necessary.)
  • Allow the sugar paste to cool until it is warm and spreadable.
  • Be sure to test the warmth on a small portion of skin first. It is easy to burn oneself if the paste is too hot!
  • If it cools too much and looses the correct consistency, put in a microwave oven for 10 to 20 seconds. Again, test the temperature before applying over a large area.
